Retail Cleaning Associate
About The Position
The Retail Cleaning Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe store environment, with a focus on floor care. The role includes operating floor-cleaning equipment and performing routine cleaning throughout the store. Associates follow operational, merchandise, health and safety, and loss prevention standards, and are cross-trained to support multiple store areas and business needs. The position also supports customer experience and a positive store culture through respectful, effective interactions with customers, peers, supervisors, and management. Work includes maintaining store recovery and merchandising standards, responding to Front End coverage needs, and following company policies, including labor laws and meal and break procedures. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to support business needs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and operate a floor buffer and scrubber.
- Ability to multitask.
- Ability to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including listening and responding appropriately.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors.

Responsibilities
- Maintain floor-care cleanliness standards, including operating and maintaining the scrubber and buffer.
- Perform dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot cleaning of glass and windows.
- Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards throughout the store, including the Sales Floor, Single Queue, Associate Lounge, Backroom, and Restrooms.
- Follow company health and safety policies, including refilling essential items in the Lounge, Restrooms, and Front End.
- Cross-train and work in other store areas, such as the Backroom, Front End, and Sales Floor.
- Support and respond to Front End coverage needs.
- Follow the company merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
- Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
- Follow operational and loss prevention controls and company policies, including shrink-reduction practices.
- Communicate accurately and effectively with management and Associates.
- Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including meal and break period policies.
- Participate in safety awareness and help maintain a safe environment.
- Model customer experience practices and contribute to a store culture based on honesty, integrity, and respect.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
