About The Position

The Retail Cleaning Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe store environment, with a focus on floor care. Duties include operating floor scrubbers and buffers; dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot-cleaning glass and windows. The associate maintains cleanliness and recovery standards throughout the store, including the sales floor, single queue, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms, and refills essential items in the lounge, restrooms, and front end.

The role also supports store operations by cross-training in areas such as the backroom, front end, and sales floor; responding to front-end coverage needs; participating in store recovery; and following merchandising, signage, health and safety, operational, and loss-prevention standards. The associate models customer-experience practices and a positive store culture, communicates effectively with management and associates, follows labor and break policies, and performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Maintain floor-care cleanliness standards, including operating and maintaining the floor scrubber and buffer.
• Dust mop, damp mop, sweep, vacuum, dust, and spot-clean glass and windows.

• Follow health and safety policies, including refilling essential items in the lounge, restrooms, and front end.
• Cross-train in other store areas, including the backroom, front end, and sales floor, to support business needs.
• Support and respond to front-end coverage needs.
• Uphold the company’s merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
• Follow operational and loss-prevention controls and company policies, including shrink-reduction practices.
• Communicate accurately and effectively with management and associates.
• Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including associate meal and break-period policies.
• Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Model established customer-experience practices with internal and external customers and support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
