About The Position

The Retail Banking Representative is responsible for opening personal and business accounts, ensuring required documentation for new accounts is collected and properly recorded, and cross-selling the bank’s products and services. The role provides account-related assistance and customer service to customers and internal bank departments in person, by email, and by phone. It also performs teller duties when needed, including processing transactions and balancing the cash drawer.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least two years of teller or related financial customer service experience handling cash.
At least one year of banking experience.
Ability to deal with customers in a pleasant and effective manner.
Knowledge of internal bank operations, including wire transfers, debits and credits, and loan payments.
Knowledge of banking products for cross-selling.
Good verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Good computer knowledge, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

New Accounts experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Open personal and business accounts.
Gather and properly document required new-account documentation.
Enter Know Your Customer (KYC) data and documents.
Assist branch personnel and customers with account-related inquiries.
Provide customer service to customers in person, by email, and by phone, and to internal bank departments.
Cross-sell bank products and services.
Perform teller duties when needed.
Process teller transactions and perform paying and receiving functions for commercial and personal accounts.
Process services including deposits, cashier’s checks, money orders, and cash advances.
Gather Currency Transaction Report (CTR) information for transactions exceeding the established threshold.
Balance the cash drawer.
