About The Position
The Retail Banking Representative I provides superior, quality customer service while processing transactions efficiently and accurately. The position enhances customer relationships by referring customers to products and services and opening new deposit accounts to help achieve customers’ goals. The employee performs teller and account-related services, identifies customers’ financial needs, resolves concerns, follows bank policies and compliance requirements, protects confidential information, and supports the branch’s operations and appearance. The role may include Saturday rotation coverage and assisting other branches during staffing shortages. Other job-related duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of one year of related clerical or administrative experience or training.
- Detailed understanding of banking services and products.
- Strong attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and quality of work.
- Ability to handle changing priorities in a deadline-oriented environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities
- Perform teller transactions and process new deposit account requests.
- Process customer service requests, including stop payments, wire transfers, special account instructions, and account maintenance.
- Open basic deposit accounts, including individual or joint consumer accounts with POA or POD designations and sole proprietorship accounts.
- Work with clients to identify current and future financial needs and offer appropriate solutions directly or through referrals.
- Resolve customer complaints and concerns related to deposit account transactions.
- Follow bank policies, procedures, compliance standards, and regulations.
- Maintain the confidentiality of customer information and activities.
- Promote accuracy and quality in branch work.
- Become proficient with job-related systems and equipment.
- Contribute to the general upkeep and appearance of the branch.
- Participate in available training opportunities.
- Understand and comply with the Bank’s mission and vision.
- Assist other branches during staff shortages.
- Participate in a Saturday rotation schedule, as applicable.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
