About The Position

The Retail Backroom Coordinator executes receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The role helps deliver an excellent customer experience by engaging with customers, maintaining a clean and organized store, and modeling exceptional customer service. The Coordinator orchestrates truck deliveries and prioritizes merchandise processing onto the sales floor, trains and mentors Associates, monitors team productivity, and helps ensure tasks are completed according to the store plan. The role organizes back stock for replenishment, maintains merchandising and signage standards, and upholds backroom cleanliness, recovery, safety, and compliance requirements. The Coordinator communicates priorities and progress with management and Associates, partners with Management on training needs, and supports store shrink-reduction, credit, and loyalty programs. The position is at the TJ Maxx store at 134 Perimeter Center West, Dunwoody, Georgia. Starting pay is $14.25 to $14.75 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

Create a positive internal and external customer experience.
Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Orchestrate truck deliveries and prioritize processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
Train and mentor Associates on merchandising and processing principles.
Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
Ensure Associates complete tasks according to the store plan and reprioritize as needed.
Monitor team productivity and coach Associates as necessary.
Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards in the backroom.
Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs.
Communicate priorities and progress accurately and effectively with management and Associates.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Partner with Management on Associate training needs.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
