About The Position

The Retail Backroom Coordinator executes receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The role supports an excellent customer experience through customer engagement, a clean and organized store, and exceptional customer service. The Coordinator organizes truck delivery and merchandise processing, trains and mentors Associates, monitors productivity, coordinates the flow of goods to the sales floor, and maintains backroom organization, signage, and safety standards. The position also supports store shrink-reduction, credit and loyalty programs, and compliance with labor laws, policies, procedures, and applicable recycling and hazardous-waste programs. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• One year of retail experience and six months of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive internal and external customer experience and role-model exceptional customer service.
• Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
• Orchestrate truck delivery and prioritize processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
• Train and mentor Associates on merchandising and processing principles.
• Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
• Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to support efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
• Ensure Associates complete tasks according to the store plan and reprioritize as needed.
• Monitor team productivity and coach Associates as necessary.
• Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
• Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
• Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards in the backroom.
• Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous-waste programs.
• Communicate priorities and progress updates accurately and effectively with management and Associates.
• Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
• Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
• Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs.
• Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
• Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
