About The Position

The Retail Backroom Coordinator executes receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The role supports an excellent customer experience through customer engagement, a clean and organized store, and exceptional customer service. The Coordinator orchestrates truck delivery and merchandise processing, trains and mentors Associates, monitors productivity, and coordinates priorities with management and the Coordinator on Duty. The position also maintains backroom organization and merchandising standards, supports store safety and shrink-reduction efforts, and ensures compliance with labor laws, policies, and procedures. Other duties may be assigned.

1 year of retail experience and 6 months of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Create a positive internal and external customer experience and role-model exceptional customer service.
Promote honesty and integrity while maintaining confidentiality.
Orchestrate truck delivery and prioritize processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
Train and mentor Associates on merchandising and processing principles.
Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to support efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
Ensure Associates complete tasks according to the store plan and reprioritize as needed.
Monitor team productivity and coach Associates as necessary.
Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
Maintain merchandising philosophy, signage standards, and backroom organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards.
Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs.
Communicate priorities and progress accurately and effectively with management and Associates.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Partner with Management on Associate training needs.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
