About The Position

The Retail Backroom Coordinator executes receiving and merchandising standards and helps ensure Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The role supports an excellent customer experience by engaging with customers, maintaining a clean and organized store, and modeling exceptional customer service. Responsibilities include coordinating truck deliveries and prioritizing merchandise processing onto the sales floor; training and mentoring Associates; ensuring merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded; and coordinating with the Coordinator on Duty to maintain an efficient flow of goods. The Coordinator monitors team productivity, coaches Associates, organizes and rotates back stock, maintains merchandising, signage, cleanliness, recovery, and organizational standards, and ensures compliance with applicable recycling and hazardous waste programs. The role also communicates priorities and progress with management and Associates, partners with Management on training needs, supports shrink-reduction and safety programs, promotes credit and loyalty programs, and ensures adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures. Other duties may be assigned.

One year of retail experience and six months of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Create a positive internal and external customer experience and model exceptional customer service.
Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Orchestrate truck deliveries, prioritizing processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
Train and mentor Associates on merchandising and processing principles.
Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure an efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
Ensure Associates complete tasks according to the store plan and prioritize as needed.
Monitor team productivity and coach Associates as necessary.
Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards in the backroom.
Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs.
Communicate priorities and progress accurately and effectively with management and Associates.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Partner with Management on Associate training needs.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
