About The Position

Retail Associates are brand ambassadors who help create exceptional in-store experiences through positive customer interactions. They answer customer questions, recommend products, support store standards, and help the Store Leadership team advance Columbia Sportswear Company’s mission of connecting active people with their passions. The role includes customer service, visual merchandising, checkout transactions, and the efficient handling of merchandise and inventory.

Requirements

• Be at least 16 years old.
• Have 2 or fewer years of experience in a position or specialization.
• Have skills operating inventory and point-of-sale (POS) systems and other retail software tools.
• Communicate clearly with others.
• Be available to work a flexible retail schedule that may change seasonally and in response to location-specific business trends or forecasts.
• No specific education is required.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer questions about product features, benefits, and availability, and learn about customers’ needs and preferences.
• Demonstrate and explain merchandise, suggest suitable options, and make product recommendations.
• Maintain visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety standards in the store.
• Retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations.
• Complete cash register transactions, including sales, returns, exchanges, and loyalty program connections, efficiently and accurately.
• Receive, handle, replenish, and process incoming and outgoing products accurately and efficiently.
• Support the Store Leadership team and contribute to customer service, teamwork, and store profitability.
