About The Position

As a Retail Associate at Columbia Sportswear Company, you serve as a brand ambassador and help create exceptional in-store customer experiences through positive customer interactions. You use problem-solving and sales abilities to answer questions, recommend products, and support the company’s values of customer service and teamwork. You also assist the Store Leadership team in supporting the company’s mission of connecting active people with their passions.

This is a seasonal retail position. The role involves helping ensure product availability, maintaining visual displays and store standards, assisting customers, completing checkout transactions, and supporting the accurate movement and processing of store inventory.

Requirements

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Experience of 2 years or less in a position or specialization.
• Skill operating inventory and point-of-sale (POS) systems and other retail software tools.
• Ability to communicate clearly with others.
• Availability to work a flexible retail schedule that may change seasonally and in response to location-specific business trends or forecasts.
• Ability to frequently move about in an active environment and frequently adjust or move items weighing up to 40 lbs.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by responding to questions or issues about product features, benefits, and availability.
• Engage with customers to understand their needs and preferences, demonstrate and explain merchandise, and suggest suitable options.
• Maintain store standards for visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety.
• Retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations.
• Perform cash register transactions, including sales, returns, exchanges, and loyalty program connections, accurately and efficiently.
• Receive, handle, replenish, and process incoming and outgoing products accurately and efficiently to contribute to store profitability.
