About The Position

The Retail Associate serves guests at SSA partner cultural attractions, providing prompt and efficient assistance and helping create a memorable guest experience. The role supports retail operations by stocking and merchandising merchandise, monitoring inventory needs, assisting with product replenishment, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and handling cash drawers as assigned. The associate follows company procedures and supports the unit’s sustainability, conservation, inclusion, and community engagement efforts. Previous experience is not required, and applicants from all education backgrounds are eligible.

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a team environment while also working independently, and demonstrated flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to understand and implement written and verbal instructions.
• Basic computer knowledge and skill with POS systems and Excel.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and move and handle boxes weighing 10–35 pounds as needed, including lifting and performing the role’s other functions.
• Ability to work varied hours and days, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill guests’ needs quickly and efficiently.
• Notify retail leadership promptly when item quantities are low or when there is a special request.
• Work with the warehouse team to pull and replenish items as necessary.
• Relay relevant customer comments directly to a supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment and uphold company policies and procedures.
• Perform the steps of SSA EXTRA Guest Service to help provide a memorable experience for every guest and client.
• Check and neatly, accurately, and promptly stock supplies in counter areas, floor displays, floor stands, and cabinets.
• Clean tables, chairs, and equipment as needed, and keep counter and floor service areas clean and free of debris.
• Maintain a balanced cash drawer when assigned.
• Merchandise products to maximize sales and increase sales through promotional items or suggestive selling.
• Support the unit in following company and client sustainability and conservation guidelines, applying relevant knowledge and helping teach unit staff as appropriate.
• Support SSA and unit community efforts through hiring efforts, engagement activities, and opportunities to give back.
• Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned.
