About The Position

Retail Associates serve as brand ambassadors and help create exceptional in-store experiences through positive customer interactions. They use problem-solving and sales skills to answer customer questions and recommend products while supporting Columbia Sportswear Company's values of customer service and teamwork. Associates help ensure products are available on the sales floor, maintain visual displays, address customer inquiries, and support efficient checkout. They also assist the Store Leadership team in advancing the company mission of connecting active people with their passions.

Requirements

• Be at least 16 years of age.
• Have 2 or fewer years of experience in a position or specialization.
• Have skill operating inventory and point-of-sale (POS) systems and other retail software tools.
• Ability to communicate clearly with others.
• Availability to work a flexible retail schedule, which may change seasonally and in response to location-specific business trends or forecasts.
• Ability to frequently move about in an active environment and frequently adjust or move items weighing up to 40 lbs.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions about product features, benefits, and availability, understanding customer needs, demonstrating merchandise, and suggesting suitable options.
• Maintain visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety standards; retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations.
• Complete cash register transactions, including sales, returns, exchanges, and loyalty program connections, efficiently and accurately.
• Receive, handle, replenish, and process incoming and outgoing products accurately and efficiently to contribute to store profitability.
