About The Position

As a Retail Associate at Columbia Sportswear Company, you serve as a brand ambassador and help deliver exceptional in-store experiences through positive customer interactions. You use problem-solving and sales skills to answer customer questions, make product recommendations, and support the company’s values of customer service and teamwork. Associates help ensure product availability, create visual displays, respond to customer inquiries, and support efficient checkout operations, contributing to the company’s mission of “Connecting Active People with Their Passions.” The role offers $15.50 per hour and is seasonal.

Requirements

• Be at least 16 years of age.
• Have 2 or fewer years of experience in a position or specialization.
• Have skill operating inventory and point-of-sale (POS) systems and other retail software tools.
• Be able to communicate clearly with others.
• Be available to work a flexible retail schedule that may change seasonally and in response to location-specific business trends or forecasts.
• Be able to frequently move about and adjust or move items weighing up to 40 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer questions about product features, benefits, and availability, and engage with customers to understand their needs and preferences.
• Demonstrate and explain merchandise and recommend suitable options to customers.
• Maintain store standards for visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety.
• Retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations.
• Accurately and efficiently perform cash register transactions, including sales, returns, exchanges, and loyalty program connections.
• Support store profitability by receiving, handling, replenishing, and processing incoming and outgoing products accurately and efficiently.
