About The Position

Retail Associates serve as brand ambassadors and create exceptional in-store experiences through positive customer interactions. They use problem-solving and sales skills to answer customer questions and make product recommendations while supporting Columbia Sportswear Company’s values of customer service and teamwork. Associates help ensure product availability, maintain visual displays, assist customers, and run efficient checkout processes in support of the company’s mission of connecting active people with their passions.

Requirements

Be 16 years of age or older.
Have 2 years or less of experience in a position or specialization.
Have skill operating inventory and point-of-sale (POS) systems and other retail software tools.
Communicate clearly with others.
Be available to work a flexible retail schedule that may change seasonally and in response to location-specific business trends or forecasts.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

Respond to customer questions or issues about product features, benefits, and availability, and learn about customers’ needs and preferences.
Demonstrate and explain merchandise and recommend suitable options to customers.
Maintain store standards for visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety.
Retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations.
Complete cash register transactions, including sales, returns, exchanges, and loyalty program connections, efficiently and accurately.
Receive, handle, replenish, and process incoming and outgoing product to contribute to store profitability.
