About The Position
The Retail Associate welcomes customers, provides a friendly and courteous shopping experience, sells merchandise, and keeps the store neat and organized. The role assists customers with questions and requests, helps them select products, and makes recommendations based on knowledge of store merchandise. The position also supports sales and store operations by using suggestive selling, operating the register and POS system, managing financial transactions, maintaining customer profile records, notifying clientele about relevant sales and merchandise, and assisting with inventory and stock organization. The associate alerts management to potential security issues and performs other duties as assigned. The role is primarily indoors on the sales floor. It may involve a somewhat noisy environment and the use of cleaning chemicals; proper PPE is provided. Physical activities include standing or walking for extended periods, bending, reaching, squatting, stretching, and lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds.
Requirements
- Sufficient education and literacy to identify and read product labels and communicate with guests about job-related needs.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and communicate in basic English is preferred.
- Previous in-person customer experience is preferred.
- Previous retail experience is preferred.
- Detail-oriented and thorough.
- Ability to perform consistent work to the highest standards.
- Ability to remain discreet and respect guests' privacy.
- Ability to interact pleasantly and in a friendly manner with guests while maintaining a positive attitude focused on customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to remain calm in uncomfortable conflicts.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Knowledge of retail operations.
- Ability to perform cash transactions accurately.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office operations.
