About The Position

The Retail Associate welcomes customers, provides courteous shopping assistance, sells merchandise, and maintains a neat and organized store. The role includes helping customers select products, answering questions, recommending merchandise, operating the register and POS system, and managing financial transactions. Associates also maintain customer profiles, keep clientele informed about relevant sales and merchandise, assist with inventory and stock organization, and alert management to potential security issues. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Sufficient education and literacy to identify and read product labels and communicate with guests about job-related needs.
Detail oriented and thorough.
Ability to perform consistent work to high standards.
Ability to remain discreet and respect guests' privacy.
Ability to interact pleasantly and maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to remain calm during uncomfortable conflicts.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Knowledge of retail operations.
Ability to perform cash transactions accurately.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office operations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to stand or walk for extended periods; bend, reach, squat, and stretch while handling merchandise, stocking, or assisting customers; and lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Basic English reading, writing, speaking, and communication skills are preferred.
Previous in-person customer experience is preferred.
Previous retail experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers energetically and provide a friendly, courteous shopping experience.
Help customers select products and escort them to merchandise.
Maintain knowledge of store merchandise to answer questions and make recommendations.
Drive sales through customer engagement and suggestive selling.
Notify clientele about preferred customer sales and merchandise that may interest them.
Operate the register and POS system and manage financial transactions.
Create or update customer profile records to document sales.
Upsell merchandise when appropriate.
Keep the store clean, neat, and organized.
Perform inventory tasks and assist with stock organization.
Alert management to potential security issues.
Perform other duties as assigned.
