About The Position

As a Retail Associate, you serve as a brand ambassador and help deliver exceptional in-store experiences through positive customer interactions. You use problem-solving and sales abilities to answer customer questions and make product recommendations while supporting Columbia Sportswear Company’s values of customer service and teamwork. Associates help ensure product availability, maintain visual displays, respond to customer inquiries, and provide an efficient checkout experience, supporting the company’s mission of connecting active people with their passions.

Requirements

• Be at least 16 years of age.
• Have 2 or fewer years of experience in a position or specialization.
• Have skill operating inventory and point-of-sale (POS) systems and other retail software tools.
• Be able to communicate clearly with others.
• Be available to work a flexible retail schedule that may change seasonally and in response to location-specific business trends or forecasts.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by responding to questions or issues about product features, benefits, and availability.
• Engage with customers to understand their needs and preferences, demonstrate and explain merchandise, and suggest suitable options.
• Maintain store standards for visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety.
• Retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations.
• Perform cash register transactions, including sales, returns, exchanges, and loyalty program connections, accurately and efficiently.
• Receive, handle, replenish, and process incoming and outgoing products accurately and efficiently.
