About The Position

Retail Associates serve as brand ambassadors and provide exceptional in-store experiences through positive customer interactions. They answer questions, recommend products, support visual merchandising and store cleanliness, process transactions, and help manage product flow. The role supports the Store Leadership team and Columbia Sportswear Company’s mission of connecting active people with their passions.

Requirements

• Be at least 16 years old.
• Have 2 or fewer years of experience in a position or specialization.
• Have skill operating inventory and point-of-sale systems and other retail software tools.
• Be able to communicate clearly with others.
• Be available to work a flexible retail schedule that may change seasonally and in response to location-specific business trends or forecasts.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer questions about product features, benefits, and availability, and understand customers’ needs and preferences.
• Demonstrate and explain merchandise and suggest suitable options to customers.
• Maintain store standards for visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety.
• Retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations.
• Perform cash register transactions, including sales, returns, exchanges, and loyalty program connections, accurately and efficiently.
• Receive, handle, replenish, and process incoming and outgoing products accurately and efficiently.
