About The Position

The Retail Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers, following customer experience practices, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. The role adheres to operational, merchandising, loss prevention, safety, and labor standards and may involve cross-training in multiple store areas to support business needs. Associates support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect; handle customer transactions accurately; promote credit and loyalty programs; process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor; and maintain merchandising, recovery, organizational, and cleanliness standards. They also contribute to store shrink reduction and safety awareness, provide and accept feedback, and perform other duties as assigned. This is a part-time position at the TJ Maxx store at 1515 Rte 22 W, Watchung, New Jersey. The starting pay range is $15.92 to $16.42 per hour, with actual starting pay based on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

Deliver a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers and following established customer experience practices.
Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Follow the merchandising philosophy and established merchandising procedures and standards.
Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards on the sales floor and help maintain the cleanliness of the entire store.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs.
Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
