About The Position

Enstrom Candies is hiring part-time seasonal associates for its downtown retail store. The Retail Associate helps provide an excellent shopping experience by assisting customers with purchases, keeping the store clean and organized, and supporting inventory management. The role requires a friendly, customer-focused approach, strong organizational skills, and comfort engaging with customers. The position includes customer service and sales transactions, product quality checks, stocking and cleaning candy displays, inventory tasks, and preparing and serving beverages, ice cream, and other frozen treats. Associates must follow company policies and safety procedures, arrive on time for scheduled shifts, and obtain a food handler’s card, with certification provided by Enstrom Candies.

Requirements

Ability to follow recipes precisely and produce consistent-quality drinks.
Ability to scoop ice cream.
Ability to enter a freezer while wearing proper clothing.
Ability to follow directions and safety procedures and maintain quality standards.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Fluency in written and spoken English.
Mathematical accuracy.
Ability to stand for much of the day.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
Ability to bend, stoop, climb, and kneel; see and hear; handle or feel objects and tools; grasp and turn; and raise arms above shoulder height.
Personal qualities including quantity and accuracy, cooperation and reliability, initiative, alertness, judgment, cleanliness, and efficient management of work time.
Must follow safety procedures; risk of personal injury or assault is minimal.

Responsibilities

Provide knowledgeable, friendly service to customers and staff.
Process payments accurately and handle cash and credit card transactions using the point-of-sale system.
Monitor product freshness and appearance as part of quality control.
Keep candy trays and containers filled and clean.
Arrive on time and work scheduled shifts.
Assist with monthly inventory counts and orders.
Stock the retail freezer.
Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including specialty coffee drinks, using espresso machines and other equipment.
Take orders and serve ice cream and frozen treats, including preparing sundaes and milkshakes.
Work a flexible assigned schedule, including weekends.
Perform light janitorial duties.
Follow company policies in the Employee Handbook and Code of Conduct, as well as the retail dress code.
Obtain a food handler’s card; Enstrom Candies will provide certification.
Perform other duties as assigned.
