About The Position

The Retail Associate provides friendly customer service, helps customers find products and solutions, and delivers a fast, friendly checkout experience. The role includes cash handling, promoting Rewards and Private Label Credit Cards, explaining the Voice of Customer survey, and assisting with Buy Online Pickup in Store and Ship From Store processes. Associates participate in truck unloading, stocking, planogram activities, merchandise recovery, store maintenance, and in-stock optimization. They support safety and shrink programs, follow company procedures and policies, treat others respectfully, and are cross-trained in Custom Framing sales and production. Other duties may be assigned.

This seasonal, part-time role is based in a public retail store. Work hours include nights, weekends, and early mornings. Public areas are climate controlled, while some stock rooms may not be; occasional outdoor work may be involved when retrieving carts or unloading trucks. The frame shop includes a glass cutter and heat press. The position requires standing for long periods and moving throughout the store, as well as bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, stretching, and using a ladder or similar equipment to access high shelves. Michaels requires team members in this role to be at least 16 years old. Reasonable accommodations may be available through an interactive process.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Ability to remain standing for long periods and move throughout the store.
• Ability to bend, lift, carry, reach, and stretch regularly.
• Ability to lift heavy boxes and access high shelves using a ladder or similar equipment.
• Applicants in the U.S. must satisfy federal, state, and local legal requirements of the job.

Responsibilities

• Help customers shop, locate products, and find solutions.
• Provide a fast and friendly checkout experience and handle cash according to standards.
• Promote the Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments.
• Educate customers about the Voice of Customer survey.
• Assist with omnichannel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS).
• Participate in truck unloading, stocking, and planogram (POG) processes.
• Complete merchandise recovery and maintenance, including returns and general store recovery.
• Perform Store In Stock Optimization (SISO) and ad set duties as assigned.
• Support shrink and safety programs.
• Follow standard operating procedures, company programs, policies, and standards, including applicable legal requirements.
• Interact respectfully and positively with others and serve as a role model for team members.
• Cross-train in Custom Framing sales and production.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
