About The Position
Thomas Cuisine is seeking a friendly and dependable Retail Associate for the College Café at Mission College in Santa Clara, California. The role supports a welcoming campus dining experience for students, faculty, staff, and visitors by preparing and gathering items for meal service, assisting customers, operating the register, and maintaining a clean and organized retail space. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and compensation is $19 per hour. The position is part of Thomas Cuisine, a contract food service company founded in 1986 that prepares scratch-made cuisine and advocates the healing power of whole foods. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- ServSafe® Certification and a State Food Handlers Card.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Basic math and cash-handling skills.
- Ability to comply with healthcare facility policies and hygiene standards.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift trays, and perform repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities
- Operate the cash register with 99.85% accuracy, plus or minus.
- Set up the appropriate cashier bank.
- Document cash received and charges made.
- Identify customer needs and refer them to the appropriate department for follow-up when necessary.
- Collect data for cash control.
- Stock refrigerators with beverages, condiments, and other items.
- Clean, sanitize, and polish general work areas, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and removing trash.
- Prepare and gather items needed for meal service.
- Provide exceptional service to guests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
