About The Position

Contribute to Goodwill’s mission in a retail store by maximizing efficiency and store appearance and supporting customer and associate satisfaction. Process donations in a timely manner for placement on the sales floor. This associate works in a moderate work environment, with occasional exposure to extreme atmospheric conditions such as temperature, noise, fumes, and dust. Open availability is required, including nights and weekends as business needs dictate. The position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred; a combination of education and work experience will be considered.
• No previous experience required.
• Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as business needs dictate; the posting also specifies open availability, nights, and weekends.
• Must follow Goodwill safety rules and regulations and applicable procedures for protecting confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Inspect donations and raw materials for quality and marketability according to the Retail Operations Manual.
• Sort raw materials into categories for store use, salvage, or trash.
• Stand and tag donated items according to Goodwill’s rotation system.
• Stand and hang sorted goods for the retail sales floor in accordance with productivity standards.
• Produce the required number of items each day according to Goodwill’s minimum standards.
• Follow uniform dress code standards.
• Maintain an enthusiastic and positive attitude.
• Work as a team member in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities, and learn new procedures.
• Be cross-trained in multiple production and customer service positions.
• Follow asset protection control and compliance procedures.
• Communicate effectively with customers, peers, and management.
• Adhere to the work schedule.
• Meet the physical requirements of the position.
• Follow Goodwill’s safety rules and regulations.
• Follow privacy and security procedures when handling confidential information.
