About The Position
The Restaurant Takeout Shift Supervisor or To-Go Shift Supervisor coordinates the daily operations of a restaurant shift and oversees takeout and catering needs, providing exceptional service in a timely manner. Responsibilities include packaging and labeling items, ensuring each order includes its necessary components, and handling cash. This is a full-time position. Previous experience is not required; training is provided.
Requirements
- Have a current Food Handler’s Card where applicable, or be able to obtain one.
- Be able to operate kitchen equipment and systems, including a coffee machine, iced tea machine, lemon slicer, and point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Know proper sanitation practices and safety procedures.
- Be able to multitask and organize multiple types of orders at the same time.
- Be able to follow company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Have excellent customer service skills and etiquette.
- Be able to communicate effectively.
Responsibilities
- Provide fast, friendly, efficient, and courteous service to customers online, by phone, and in person.
- Understand the menu, help guests choose items for takeout and catering, and answer their questions.
- Review orders with guests at pickup or delivery, and/or with delivery drivers, to ensure accuracy.
- Anticipate and exceed guest expectations to deliver a positive hospitality experience and achieve satisfactory feedback.
- Handle money responsibly and accurately and maintain inventory controls.
- Open and securely close the restaurant, establish needed preparation, assign tasks to staff, and complete shift responsibilities.
- Supervise training for new team members and coach and mentor team members on culinary techniques and skills.
- Package and label items and ensure orders include all necessary components.
