About The Position

The Wellsworth Hotel is seeking an energetic, well-rounded candidate to join its Food and Beverage Team. Servers take customer orders, serve food and drinks, prepare tables, greet guests and show them to their tables, and help customers feel welcome and comfortable throughout their meals. They also ensure tables are clean and tidy. The role supports daily Food and Beverage Department operations, maintains food and beverage safety and quality according to hotel, Shaner, and franchise specifications, and communicates with the General Manager, other department managers, supervisors, and staff. Other duties may be assigned.

The position is at the Wellsworth Hotel in Southbridge, Massachusetts, a 203-room property with a restaurant and lounge and extensive meeting and event facilities.

Requirements

• Minimum one year of experience in a similar position dealing with the public.
• Meet the minimum state age requirement to serve alcoholic beverages.
• Ability to communicate satisfactorily with guests, management, and co-workers so they understand.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.

Nice To Haves

• Some college preferred.
• ServSafe and/or food safety training.
• Alcohol awareness training, such as TIPS.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.
• Knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for clientele.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with and completion of daily Food and Beverage Department operational procedures.
• Maintain food and beverage safety and quality according to hotel, Shaner, and franchise specifications.
• Communicate with the General Manager, other department managers, supervisors, and staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
