About The Position

Historic Hotel and Restaurant is seeking an enthusiastic and professional individual to join our team. As part of our food and beverage service staff, you’ll provide our guests with exceptional hospitality by serving food and drinks in a friendly, timely, and professional manner. If you’re passionate about great service and enjoy creating memorable dining experiences, we’d love to hear from you! Bota is an authentic Spanish style tapas and paella bar located in the heart of Union Square in San Francisco. A place to go to share food, savor rustic flavors and enjoy Spanish wine in a casual, yet chic, environment. Inspired by the concept behind our name “BOTA”, a vessel to share wine with the people around you.

Requirements

Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Must possess basic computational ability.
Must possess basic computer skills.
Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware.
Ability to describe all menu items, prices and methods of preparation. And to use suggestive selling techniques to encourage the guests to choose items that are house specialties.
Must be minimum age to serve alcohol.
Wear non-slip shoes, name tag, and approved uniform.

Nice To Haves

Two years’ experience as food server in full-service restaurant is highly preferred.
Bi-lingual in Spanish.

Responsibilities

Take orders for and serve all food and beverage requests, using suggestive selling techniques; clear tables during service; control guest checks and secure proper payment.
Ensure station and table set-ups are complete and perform various side duties as assigned by the Outlet Supervisor.
Maintain proper condition and cleanliness of dining areas and servicing equipment.
Cleaning doors, windows, and floors during downtime.
