About The Position

The restaurant server provides exceptional service for both our Doheny Surf Restaurant and Longboard Rooftop Lounge. This role involves efficiently and properly performing all service standards, attending to guest needs by answering questions regarding food & beverage and hotel facilities accurately and in a friendly manner. The server must maintain full knowledge of menus, recipes, and other pertinent information regarding the hotel, identify food orders when ready, and deliver items to tables in a timely manner. Additionally, the server must be familiar with and adhere to all liquor liability laws.

Requirements

  • Previous serving experience in a hotel setting such as Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt or another hotel brand.
  • Must have a flexible schedule and be available to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must have exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to satisfactory communicate in English with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding.
  • RBS Certification will be required prior to the start of employment.
  • Must complete CA Food handlers Card training provided upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Identify food orders when ready and deliver items to tables in a timely manner.
  • Must be familiar with and adhere to all liquor liability laws.
  • Communicates with any guest needs to Director of Food + Beverage, Executive Chef and Food + Beverage Supervisor.
  • Completes side work during non-busy hours.
  • Always keep outlet areas clean and presentable.
  • Responsible for constant sanitation, organization, and proper food handling.
  • Prepare work areas for opening, mid-shift, or closing in accordance to company standards.
  • Reports to as scheduled, in uniform, and ready to be in position which includes uniform to be pressed and cleaned, name tag worn, and excellent hygiene.
  • Follow up with guest requests/complaints
