About The Position

The Restaurant Server provides exceptional service to guests and helps ensure a positive dining experience. The role involves taking accurate orders, serving food and beverages efficiently, and addressing guest needs promptly and courteously. A friendly demeanor and attention to detail contribute to the restaurant’s success and reputation. The server greets guests, presents menus, answers questions, makes recommendations, and uses the point-of-sale (POS) system to relay orders and process payments. The position also involves monitoring tables, responding to inquiries and complaints, maintaining clean and stocked service areas, following food safety and sanitation rules, assisting with opening and closing duties, and collaborating with restaurant colleagues. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience as a restaurant server preferred, but not always required.
Basic knowledge of food and beverage service procedures.
Ability to operate a POS system.
Ability to handle cash and process payments accurately.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry trays of food and beverages.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Must comply with applicable health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Greet guests warmly and professionally upon arrival.
Present menus, answer questions about menu items, and make recommendations.
Take accurate food and beverage orders using the POS system.
Relay orders promptly and accurately to kitchen and bar staff.
Serve food and beverages in a timely and efficient manner, following service standards.
Monitor tables, anticipate guest needs, refill drinks, and offer additional items.
Handle guest inquiries and complaints; escalate issues to management when necessary.
Process payments accurately using the POS system, including cash, credit cards, and other payment methods.
Maintain clean and organized tables, server stations, and dining areas.
Follow food safety and sanitation regulations.
Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned.
Collaborate with kitchen staff, bartenders, bussers, and other team members to support smooth service.
Assist with setting and clearing tables.
Stock service stations with necessary supplies.
Run food and beverage orders to tables as needed.
Assist with training new server staff.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive work environment.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
