About The Position

Serve food and beverages to guests in a courteous and friendly manner in accordance with established brand and hotel guest-service and sustainability standards. Help ensure guest satisfaction by taking and entering orders, serving food, maintaining dining areas and service stations, and completing guest checks and payments when appropriate. During staffing shortages or peak periods, perform other food-and-beverage duties such as bartending and bussing. Follow HHM’s EarthView sustainability guidelines and workplace safety requirements, and perform other duties as requested by management. The work schedule varies and may include holidays, weekends, and alternate shifts. The role requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 25 pounds, bending, and reaching. HHM describes a potential growth path through Restaurant Supervisor, Banquet Server/Captain, Restaurant Manager, and Banquet Manager roles.

Requirements

Previous food-and-beverage experience or equivalent training is required.
Knowledge of POS systems.
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
TIPS certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Take food and beverage orders and enter them into the point-of-service system.
Ensure overall guest satisfaction and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction.
Set and clear tables in dining areas.
Stock service stations with items such as ice, napkins, and straws.
Pick up orders from food preparation areas and ensure food is prepared accordingly.
Prepare guest checks and, when appropriate, complete payment transactions.
Perform other food-and-beverage functions, such as bartending and bussing, during staffing shortages or peak periods.
Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM’s EarthView program.
Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment, and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
Perform other duties as requested by management.
