Restaurant Server (Lunch) - The Library Table & Bar
About The Position
The Restaurant Server at The Library Table & Bar helps create welcoming and memorable dining experiences through attentive service, menu knowledge, and genuine guest connection. The position is part-time and permanent, serving daytime lunch shifts at a restaurant inside The Arlington Hotel in Paris, Ontario. Compensation is minimum wage plus tips. The server welcomes and assists guests throughout their dining experience, answers questions about food, specials, and wine pairings, takes and enters orders using the POS system, delivers food and beverages to presentation and timing standards, and responds to guest needs. The role also includes processing payments, helping with basic bartending tasks as needed, maintaining clean and organized service areas, coordinating with the kitchen, bar, and service teams, following directions from the Restaurant Manager, and performing other duties that support restaurant operations.
Requirements
- Smart Serve certification is required.
- Availability for daytime lunch shifts is required.
- A natural ability to connect with guests and provide warm, attentive service.
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with guests and team members.
- Ability to stay composed in a fast-paced environment.
- A guest-first mindset and passion for creating memorable experiences.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to help wherever needed.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in banquet, catering, restaurant, or high-volume service is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Welcome guests and guide them through their dining experience.
- Answer questions about menu items, specials, and wine pairings.
- Take food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system.
- Deliver orders promptly while maintaining presentation and timing standards.
- Check in with guests and address concerns in a timely manner.
- Process cash, debit, and credit transactions.
- Help with basic bartending tasks, such as preparing drinks and garnishes, as needed.
- Keep service areas clean and organized.
- Communicate with kitchen, bar, and service teams.
- Follow directions from the Restaurant Manager and contribute to daily operations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the success of the restaurant.
