About The Position

The Restaurant Server Assistant provides service assistance to Servers while delivering quality products and service to guests and clients. The role includes setting and clearing tables, stocking the service station, and completing daily side work. The assistant is expected to provide high levels of guest service while maintaining Langham Hospitality Group and Forbes service standards.

Requirements

• Two years of previous restaurant bussing experience.
• Illinois Sanitation License, TIPS, and BASSET licenses.

Responsibilities

• Maintain station stock and cleanliness throughout the work shift.
• Polish and inspect service ware, linen, china, and condiments, ensuring items are accessible to Servers and meet luxury standards.
• Provide coffee, water, beverages, and bread to guests throughout their meals as requested.
• Set up tables in the assigned section, clear tables, and transport dirty tableware to stewarding.
• Sweep crumbs and debris from floors and table bases after guests depart, and clean debris from glass windows.
• Deliver food to tables and explain the composition of each dish in detail, communicating effectively.
• Assist colleagues across the outlet team, including Servers, bartenders, and kitchen colleagues.
• Share knowledge of the hotel, its facilities, and local attractions when responding to guest and client inquiries.
• Follow state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations regarding service to minors and intoxicated guests.
• Communicate with guests in a gracious manner and maintain a positive demeanor.
