About The Position

The Restaurant Cashier operates the cash register to cash out guests and helps create a welcoming, efficient restaurant experience through accurate transactions and warm guest service. The role also includes answering phones, greeting customers, tracking seat availability, and assisting with bussing and cleaning tables. The position requires working effectively in an interruptive, fast-paced environment with frequent time pressures and supporting the safety and security of employees and customers. Other duties may be assigned. This is a union-represented position; applicable union dues and fees may be required. Scheduling preferences may be considered when consistent with business needs, but scheduling is governed by the collective bargaining agreement. Shift bids may be required, and assignments may change based on operational requirements and seniority. The work takes place in a 24/7 high-energy casino environment with more than 300,000 square feet of gaming and entertainment space and approximately 3,000 employees. The role is exposed to alcohol, cigarette and cigar smoke, bright lights, and loud noises, and smoking is allowed in the environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to use cash register systems.
Ability to read and follow basic instructions.
Ability to use a telephone and hear and speak clearly.
Knowledge of alcohol awareness.
Knowledge of sanitation and health department regulations for safe food handling.
Strong work ethic, high energy, and attention to detail.
Basic math and computer skills.
Ability to be flexible with the work schedule; extended hours and work weeks may occasionally be required.
Ability to obtain and maintain the license required by the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency.
Ability to stand and walk continually throughout a scheduled shift.
Ability to bend, stoop, and reach.
Ability to carry trash bags weighing up to 25 pounds.
Ability to use stairs and elevators.
