About The Position

This part-time respite position supports a child in Menomonie, Wisconsin. The child enjoys being active, spending time outdoors, and going for long walks and runs. The provider will participate in activities with the child and help create a safe, enjoyable environment through attentive, patient, and close supervision. The role also involves being attentive to sensory sensitivities, supporting communication and choices with a choice board, and learning to appropriately use a G-Button.

The position is approximately 10 hours per week and pays $14.13 per hour, plus $0.76 per mile when the child is in the vehicle. Consumer Direct Care Network assists the Member or Managing Party with recruiting; if hired by a Member or Managing Party, that party—not CDCN—is the legal employer and has sole authority to hire or dismiss the Direct Care Worker.

Requirements

• Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum.
• Comfort working with a child who has sensory sensitivities.
• Comfort being active and participating in outdoor activities, including long walks and runs.
• Ability to provide close supervision and remain attentive to the child's needs and surroundings.
• Willingness to learn how to use a G-Button.
