About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital - Akron is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Respiratory Therapists provide compassionate respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions, helping them throughout their recovery. The position is full-time nights, from 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., in Akron, Ohio. Compensation is $34.18 to $46.00 per hour, with a $15,000 sign-on bonus. Requirements

Active CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the start date.
Current state licensure.
ACLS certification within six months of hire. Agency respiratory therapists must have ACLS before their first shift, and PRN staff must have ACLS upon hire.

Responsibilities

Evaluate patients and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
Provide respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
Perform insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
Promote continuous quality improvement.
Teach and counsel patients and families.
