About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital - Canton is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU care to chronic, critically ill patients who require extended healing and recovery. Respiratory Therapists play a central role in delivering compassionate treatment to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions. This is a full-time night position in Canton, Ohio, with a schedule of 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Compensation is $32.69 to $44.00 per hour, with a $15,000 sign-on bonus. The hospital offers an extensive orientation program, continuing education, a clinical ladder program, and support for team members’ career growth and well-being.

Requirements

Must possess an active CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.
Must possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the start date.
Current state licensure is required.
ACLS is required within six months of hire. Agency respiratory therapists must have ACLS upon their first shift; PRN staff must have ACLS upon hire.

One year of related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Evaluate patients and recommend an appropriate treatment plan.
Provide respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
Perform insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
Promote continuous quality improvement.
Teach and counsel patients and families.
