About The Position

South Texas Rehabilitation Hospital in Brownsville, Texas, is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide patient care in an inpatient rehabilitation setting. The hospital provides rehabilitation services for people recovering from strokes, brain and spinal cord injuries, orthopedic injuries, and other serious conditions. Its programs include neurological, orthopedic, and cardiac/pulmonary rehabilitation, with personalized therapy, bilingual support, and family education. The Respiratory Therapist evaluates and treats patients with breathing disorders, performs lab functions, and assumes primary responsibility for respiratory care treatments. The role incorporates the hospital’s mission and Guiding Principles into daily practice. The position is PRN.

Requirements

Current state license as a Respiratory Therapist.
Current CPR Certification.
Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures.
General computer skills, including data entry, word processing, email, and record management.
Good judgment, initiative, problem-solving, decision-making, prioritizing, and organizational skills.
Effective organizational and time-management skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to work closely and professionally with others.
Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection-control standards.
