About The Position

The Respiratory Therapist performs specialized respiratory therapy services as directed by provider orders and in accordance with hospital-established protocols, policies, and procedures. This PRN position requires completion of an NBRC-approved Respiratory Therapy program, appropriate respiratory therapy credentials and licensure, and maintenance of required life-support certifications. Requirements

• Successful completion of a National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)-approved Respiratory Therapy program.
• RRT credential required upon hire or by the end of one year of employment and must be maintained throughout employment.
• Arizona Respiratory license required before the first day of employment.
• Maintain Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or the equivalent as determined by the site of hire.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of computers.
• Familiarity with risks associated with exposure to infectious patients, needle puncture hazards, and hazards related to compressed gases.

Nice To Haves

• Previous hospital experience preferred.
• Familiarity with The Joint Commission standards and requirements.
