PRN Respiratory Therapist
About The Position
Conducts basic physician-prescribed treatments and demonstrates competence in respiratory equipment related to respiratory care practice. Operates and maintains respiratory care equipment, administers patient care, and documents practice activity in the patient's electronic medical record (EMR). Work is performed at the required level of competence and in accordance with scope of practice, departmental policies and procedures, HIPAA standards, and quality assurance guidelines. This PRN position is in the Respiratory Therapy department, with a core function in Respiratory & Sleep Lab, at St Mary's Hospital in Decatur, Illinois. Scheduled weekly hours are listed as 0.
Requirements
- Diploma or associate degree in respiratory therapy from an Accredited Respiratory Care Education Program.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner or eligibility for licensure in the state of practice; license must be obtained within 6 months.
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy from an Accredited Respiratory Care Education Program.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
