RT Respiratory Therapist PRN
About The Position
Rehab and Critical Care Hospital of the Black Hills is seeking a PRN Respiratory Therapist. Located in Rapid City, South Dakota, the hospital has 36 inpatient medical rehabilitation beds and 18 long-term acute care beds, combining two levels of specialized care under one roof. It treats patients with debilitating injuries, illnesses, surgeries, and chronic medical conditions. The Respiratory Therapist provides efficient, quality-oriented patient care within the department’s policies and procedures. The role also involves equipment support, including maintenance, changes, and inventory, as well as setting up and operating respiratory care equipment used to diagnose and treat respiratory disease and illness.
Requirements
- Graduate of a Respiratory Therapy program.
- Current, valid, active state license to practice as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Therapist.
- Current BLS certification from a Vibra-approved vendor.
- Obtain ACLS certification from a Vibra-approved vendor within six months of hire.
- Ability to project a professional image.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
- Strong organizational, prioritizing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
- Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
- Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
Nice To Haves
- One year of critical care and/or artificial airway and ventilator care experience preferred.
