About The Position

Highpoint Health Sumner is hiring a Certified Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care and support the hospital’s mission of making communities healthier. The role includes delivering routine therapy as delegated by a therapist, responding to emergency calls, assessing patients, and providing appropriate treatment. The therapist also monitors and communicates patient condition, educates patients and families, manages respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders, and maintains respiratory equipment.

Requirements

• Certified Respiratory Care Therapist Tennessee license.
• Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy.
• BCLS certification.

Nice To Haves

• ACLS certification.
• PALS certification.
• NRP certification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver routine therapy as delegated by a therapist.
• Respond to codes and calls for emergent assistance, assess patient condition, and deliver appropriate treatment.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition.
• Educate patients and families about the patient’s illness and provide information about community support groups and other resources.
• Monitor, receive, stock, and distribute respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders.
• Maintain storage areas with required supply levels and equipment.
• Disassemble, clean, and sterilize equipment; perform preventative maintenance and calibration of machines.
