About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital - Canton is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Respiratory Therapists play a central role in delivering compassionate care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions. The position is per diem/PRN Tier 2, located in Canton, Ohio, and pays $53.00 per hour. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered for night shifts. The schedule is a night shift from 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with a minimum of two 12-hour shifts per week. The role requires working one major and one minor holiday per year and at least three weekend shifts per six-week scheduling cycle. The hospital provides an extensive respiratory therapist orientation program. Demonstrated skill and dedication may lead to potential full-time opportunities.

Requirements

Possess an active CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.
Hold Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the start date.
Hold current state licensure.
Hold ACLS certification upon hire; agency respiratory therapists must have ACLS by their first shift.

Responsibilities

Evaluate patients and recommend an appropriate treatment plan.
Provide respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
Perform insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
Promote continuous quality improvement.
Teach and counsel patients and families.
Perform other duties as assigned.
