Respiratory Therapist / PRN Tier 2
About The Position
Select Specialty Hospital - Canton is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Respiratory Therapists play a central role in providing compassionate, excellent treatment to patients with complex conditions. This is a per diem/PRN Tier 2 position in Canton, Ohio, paying $53.00 per hour. The night shift runs from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Staff must work at least two 12-hour shifts per week, one major and one minor holiday per year, and at least three weekend shifts during each six-week scheduling cycle. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered for nights. The hospital provides an extensive Respiratory Therapist orientation program, and the role may offer a path to potential full-time opportunities.
Requirements
- Active CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the start date.
- Current state licensure.
- ACLS certification upon hire; agency Respiratory Therapists must have ACLS by their first shift.

- One year of related experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
- Provide respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
- Perform insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
- Promote continuous quality improvement.
- Teach and counsel patients and families.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
