About The Position

Wellington Regional Medical Center is hiring a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a part-time night-shift position described as 24 hours per week, with full-time benefits. The hospital is a 235-bed acute care community hospital in Wellington, Florida, owned by a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc. The position provides respiratory care to patients of all age groups and supports the hospital’s stroke response process. The role also includes assisting with staff orientation and training, cross-training and floating as needed, and participating in departmental quality improvement, in-services, and meetings.

Requirements

Graduate of an AMA-approved program.
Current registered respiratory therapist license in the State of Florida.
Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
At least one year of experience in an acute care hospital, including adult critical care.

Responsibilities

Deliver all aspects of respiratory care to patients of all age groups.
Assist in the orientation and training of new staff members and act as a resource person.
Cross-train in other areas and float to fulfill hospital needs.
Participate in department quality improvement studies, in-services, and meetings.
Recognize signs and symptoms of stroke and call a stroke alert overhead.
Verbalize and follow the stroke alert process.
Assess and maintain airways, assist with intubation, and transport intubated stroke patients.
Maintain current stroke knowledge by completing annual one-hour online training.
