About The Position
Perform specialized respiratory therapy services as directed by provider orders and in accordance with hospital-established protocols, policies, and procedures. The role requires an Arizona Respiratory license before the first day of employment. The RRT credential must be obtained by hire or by the end of the first year of employment and maintained throughout employment. Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or site-approved equivalents, must also be maintained.
Requirements
- Successful completion of an NBRC-approved Respiratory Therapy program.
- Obtain and maintain the National Board for Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential upon hire or by the end of one year of employment.
- Hold an Arizona Respiratory license before the first day of employment.
- Maintain Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certifications, or equivalents determined by the site of hire.
- Have good verbal and written communication skills.
- Understand computers.
- Be familiar with risks associated with exposure to infectious patients, needle puncture hazards, and hazards related to compressed gases.
Nice To Haves
- Previous hospital experience preferred.
- Familiarity with The Joint Commission standards and requirements.
