About The Position

This is a travel opportunity for a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) based in a hospital setting in Berlin, Vermont. The assignment is approximately 20 weeks long, starting on 08/31/2026. The role involves working in a hospital-based Respiratory Therapy unit that supports adult, pediatric, and critical care patients, including involvement in ICU/ED settings. The position requires providing comprehensive respiratory care, operating and monitoring mechanical ventilation, supporting external transports, collaborating with physicians, and documenting patient care in the EMR.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications per program requirements
  • EPIC EMR experience within the past 2 years
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical respiratory therapy experience
  • Ability to work nights and participate in a 20-week assignment with the scheduling needs of the unit

Nice To Haves

  • Neonatal/Pediatric NICU/PICU experience preferred; role involves significant pediatric involvement

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive respiratory care for adult and pediatric patients, including airway management, bronchodilator therapy, aerosolized meds, and airway clearance techniques.
  • Operate and monitor mechanical ventilation using equipment such as Hamilton C3 and T1 ventilators; manage NIV with devices like V60 NIV, Airvo 2, and HFNC; adjust ventilator settings in collaboration with physicians and the ICU team.
  • Support external transports for adult critical care patients as needed.
  • Collaborate with Pulmonary Critical Care physicians and Hospitalist services; participate in unit protocols for bronchodilator therapy, NIV, and airway clearance.
  • Document patient care and interventions in the EMR (Epic) and ensure accurate handoffs during shift changes.
  • Provide care across ICU and ED floors and contribute to patient-specific respiratory plans for all age groups.
