About The Position

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a travel assignment in Hilo, Hawaii. This is a 15-week temporary assignment through Healthforce Healthcare LLC, starting on 08/31/2026. The role involves hospital-based patient care, focusing on providing continuous airway management for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients. Responsibilities include monitoring patient status, adjusting ventilator settings, administering therapies, responding to emergencies, operating and maintaining respiratory equipment, and participating in physician rounds.

Requirements

Hawaii State Respiratory Therapy License (RRT not required but strongly preferred)
BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications are required
Minimum 2 years of clinical experience as a Respiratory Therapist
Ability to care for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patient populations
RRT preferred; NRP preferred
Must arrive the Thursday before the start date to complete employee health clearance (flu vaccination or approved exception required prior to contract start)

Responsibilities

Provide continuous airway management for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients, including ventilator and non-invasive ventilation support.
Monitor patient status, adjust ventilator settings, troubleshoot alarms, and collaborate with the care team on respiratory care plans.
Administer prescribed respiratory therapies and medications; document patient response and progress.
Respond to emergencies, perform CPR, and support code teams with airway management as needed.
Operate and maintain respiratory care equipment (ventilators such as V60, PB 980/PB 840; ParaPac transport vent) and ensure accurate computerized charting and supply use.
Participate in physician rounds and consultations to optimize patient outcomes and plan of care.
