About The Position

Provides all services of a Respiratory Therapist I, including critical care services for pediatric and adult patients. The role requires four Professional Activity points each year. Charge training is completed at level 2 before proceeding to level 3. When assigned by respiratory leadership to perform charge duties, the employee receives a 5% wage differential, except on charge-training days. The position serves patients of all age groups.

Requirements

Associate of Science degree in Respiratory Care from an approved program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care.
Licensed by the State of California Respiratory Care Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care; alternatively, a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) hired at El Camino Health before June 2011.
Hold and maintain active membership with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
Certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred.
