About The Position
Provides all services of a Respiratory Therapist I, including critical care services for pediatric and adult patients. The position serves patients of all age groups. The therapist must complete four Professional Activities points each year. Charge training is completed at level 2 before progressing to level 3. When assigned by respiratory leadership to perform charge duties, the employee receives a 5% wage differential, except on charge training days.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Respiratory Care from an approved program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care.
- Licensed by the State of California Respiratory Care Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care, or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) if hired at El Camino Health before June 2011.
- Hold and maintain active membership with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science degree.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
