About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital - Midtown Atlanta is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The Respiratory Therapist provides compassionate respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions. This is a full-time day position scheduled from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Midtown Atlanta, Georgia.

Requirements

Must possess an active CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.
Proof of graduation is required: college transcript or diploma (preferred), or high school transcript or diploma, or GED.
Must possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the start date.
Current state licensure is required.
ACLS is required within six months of hire. Agency respiratory therapists must have ACLS before their first shift, and PRN staff must have ACLS upon hire.

One year of related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Evaluate patients and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
Provide respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
Perform insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
Promote continuous quality improvement.
Teach and counsel patients and families.
