Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Texas Respiratory Care Practitioners Certification Program obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Respiratory Care Practitioner temporary/provisional license will be accepted until license is issued.
  • Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate daily shift operations, managing resources, activities, and staff assignments within respiratory services.
  • Perform standard Respiratory Therapist duties regularly—adhering to age-specific guidelines and maintaining competencies—while serving as a technical resource for the team.
  • Assign and review staff work, ensuring strict compliance with hospital policies and procedural standards.
  • Oversee the orientation and training of assigned associates and provide input for staff performance evaluations.
  • Maintain the ability to provide immediate, initial assistance during medical emergencies requiring intervention.
